As women, we spend fortunes to be beautiful. No wonder, the biggest compliment a child gets to hear is “so cute” followed closely by “such a good girl”. We start to build our self-confidence around how we look and not who we are. First wrinkles make us worry and shatter our self image. And yet, women can and should be beautiful at any age since true beauty is so much more than the sum of their parts.

I’m enjoying lemon sorbet with Agnieszka Perepeczko, roaring with laughter at her stories. I forget the years that separate us. I am simply talking to a beautiful woman- on so many levels. Magda Gessler, our next heroine defines womanhood as “tenderness…benevolence…ability to be generous…” I’m begining to believe that this tenderness can be a great power. And this is my New Year’s resolution for myself and for all women. Let us discover this deeply hidden beauty, the one that doesn’t change throughout the years by developing our inner power.
